The next step–
Ready for the Workforce
Vocational language courses help people expand their German language skills in a way that is specifically tailored to the job market. They generally build on the integration courses and combine language instruction with topics related to work, training, and everyday professional life.
The focus is on German that is actually needed in the workplace. This helps participants improve their language skills so they can find a job, successfully complete an apprenticeship, or perform more confidently in their current job.
At the Oberbayern Educational College, we provide personalized advice on which vocational language course is right for you, what the requirements are, and how to register. Together, we’ll map out the best path from the course to the exam.
Professional Language Courses
B2 Professional Language Course
The B2 Professional German Course is designed for people who already have some knowledge of German and would like to improve their language skills specifically for work, vocational training, or further professional development. The course teaches cross-professional German language skills at the B2 level. Participants practice expressing themselves more confidently in everyday professional situations, understanding information, conducting conversations, and completing written tasks. This includes, for example, professional emails, job applications, job interviews, employment contracts, and communication within a team. The course prepares participants for the German Test for the Workplace (DTB) at the B2 level.

DTB Exam
The German Test for the Workplace is the final exam for vocational language courses. The exam assesses whether participants have met the language requirements of the respective vocational language course. It evaluates their ability to communicate effectively in work-related situations.
The DTB exams were developed by telc on behalf of the Federal Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs and under the technical supervision of the BAMF. They are administered nationwide according to uniform guidelines. The exam takes place at our location.
You may take the exam only after completing the vocational language course in its entirety. If you do not achieve the desired result, we will advise you on your options for retaking the exam and on how to proceed.
Job-BSK
The BSK course is a workplace-oriented professional language course. It is designed for employees who need German directly for their specific day-to-day work. The course has a flexible structure and is tailored to the language requirements of the workplace.
The focus is on typical workplace situations, such as team discussions, work instructions, asking for clarification, safety briefings, reporting problems, and communicating with supervisors and coworkers. In addition, individual language needs can be addressed through coaching and learning counseling.
The BSK program is particularly well-suited for employees and companies that want to improve language skills directly in the workplace.

Apprentice BSK
The BSK Apprentice Program is designed for apprentices with an immigrant background who need language support during their training. The course helps them better meet the demands of vocational school, the workplace, and exams.
The content is tailored to the training program and the language situations that are important for the respective occupational field. This includes technical terms, vocational school curriculum, written assignments, communication in the workplace, and preparation for midterm and final exams.
A BSK training program can take place alongside the apprenticeship or, if necessary, as a preparatory course before the apprenticeship begins. It helps apprentices complete their training with greater linguistic confidence and success.
